Geomancy Updated: Our Potential as Human Bee-ings

This article is based on a talk I gave at the gathering at ECOlonie and Forge Neuve in July 2025. It covers a wide territory, from elemental beings and the Sidhe to Gaia Sophia's extraordinary evolutionary leaps. I offer it, dear reader, as a warm introduction to the living heart of the updated geomancy.

Our friends the bees hold keys to life on Earth. They move from blossom to blossom, from one living system to another, gathering, carrying, cross-pollinating, enabling flowering as a co-creative miracle. They are master pollinators and without them, life could not flourish. They are also inter-dimensional beings who move between worlds. In my years of geomantic practice, I have come to understand that humans are like the bees: we are master pollinators of consciousness.

With our awareness, we are capable of touching all realms: elemental, fairy, angelic, draconic and more. We carry the frequencies of these encounters like pollen, seeding them into other dimensions of life. This innate capacity has always been a part of us, but like Sleeping Beauty it has fallen dormant. What we are rediscovering, in this extraordinary moment of Earth's transformation, is that our inner ‘bee-ing’ is reawakening.

The Space of Possibilities

Something happens when we release the iron grip of the analytical mind. A door quietly opens, inviting us to soften the edges of what we thought we knew. The rational mind has played a dual role as humanity’s captor and companion. We are trained to label, categorise and conclude based on what we have been taught. By doing so, the rational mind closes the deeper questions of our reality before they have had a chance to arise.

In Gaia Culture Geomancy, we pose the question differently. We ask: Who is doing this? Behind every process of life on Earth, behind the movement of water, the turning of seasons, the growth of a seed- there is a being. There is someone there. The world is not a mechanism running itself. It is a living community of intelligences, visible and invisible, each contributing to the unfolding of Gaia's extraordinary creative project.

To begin to perceive this is not a matter of acquiring new abilities. It is a matter of creating a space of possibilities- suspending judgement long enough to allow direct experience to arrive. Rather than imposing or conceptualising, we are asked simply to be present and genuinely open to who is there. The beings who wish to make contact, if we become still enough, will find us. Stillness speaks and in stillness we discover a vibrant inner world.

Gaia's Quantum Leap

Imagine a conversation between two microorganisms living inside your body. One microbe turns to the other and says: Did you know that this place we inhabit is part of someone? The other looks back in disbelief: We are inside someone?

Just like the unknowing microbe in the story, billions of human beings in our world move through their lives without ever being aware that they are part of an intelligent, sentient being. Humanity is living within Gaia Sophia, cosmic Earth. The myth that we are living on an inert planet is one of the most fundamentally damaging stories we have been told about life. In every moment, we are a part of the sacred, highly conscious Earth. When she decides to make a move, we move with her. And what she is doing right now is extraordinary.

In the world of updated geomancy, the current transformations have been called Gaia's quantum leap by Marko Pogačnik who laid the foundations for our modern geomantic approach. Gaia’s development is not a gradual evolution but a leap to an entirely new level of being. It is happening with such velocity that it cannot be grasped conceptually. If life feels strange and unsettling, if the ground beneath us and our sense of self seems to slipping from beneath us, this is not a sign that we have lost our way. It is the sensation of being part of a being who is leaping.

#1 Gift of Gaia: The Love Sphere

One of the most remarkable things Gaia is doing in this moment is creating the love sphere- a living universe of love running in parallel to her biosphere and etheric body. She has understood, as a wise being who has moved through countless cycles of creation and destruction, that where love is present, life is assured. The love sphere grows daily in its reach, building bridges between worlds and opening new pathways.

Love is the primary creative force and language between all the dimensions. When we offer something with genuine love, this gesture ripples out to every dimension. The Love Sphere is not a poetic idea- it is a living reality that we are co-creating in this very moment. Love is what enables us to be like the bees as master pollinators of consciousness: when we are anchored in the heart, the doors of creation open. This is a universal law and cosmic order, upheld by the angelic network and the highest divine beings who support the fundamental fabric of the universe, including Gaia herself as the innovator of cosmic Earth consciousness.

#2 Gift of Gaia: The Merging of the Worlds

The second gift Gaia is offering is the thinning of the veils. The density of the material world has reached its lowest point and we are moving into an era of permeability- a time in which the invisible and the visible can increasingly sense and respond to one another through a vibrational language that needs no words. Gaia is throwing open the doors of creation and presenting us with a most generous and ingenious solution: make everyone aware of each other and make everyone fall deeply in love.

The merging that is happening in this moment is not only between humans and the invisible worlds. It is happening between all the different realms, between different evolutions of beings, between dimensions that were once more firmly separated. Everything is becoming more porous, more interconnected, more alive to oneself and to others. We are being invited to meet this opening with our own bee-ing: to travel with our consciousness between worlds, savouring their distinct aromas and nectars.

On my first night at the ECOlonie eco-community in les Vosges, France, there was a goblin in my room. Goblins are Earth elemental beings who serve as protectors of places and help bring Earth’s subtle forces into the manifest dimension.

A Goblin's Message

I share with you a story related to Gaia’s second gift to us. When I first visited the ECOlonie eco-community in Vosges, France in the summer of 2024, I encountered a goblin in my room on the first night. He became a friend and I sensed his presence during the whole week I was there, offering support in his funny ways. In the months that followed, I discovered my goblin friend and I could telepathically connect even when I was in London. He is a fractal of the entire place and landscape he is connected to, and through him I was able tune in from distance to the place where he lives.

When I returned to ECOlonie the following summer, I could not find him. I was disturbed by his absence, and I began to wonder if I had inadvertently done something to offend him. Then one night, as I was drifting toward sleep, I felt him moving close beside me. He was there- and when I attuned to understand his disappearance, the message came clearly. He had not withdrawn because he was preoccupied or offended. He had intentionally withdrawn to offer a strong message: I am being subtle because I need your group to be subtle. The elemental world was asking us to follow them into the non-manifest, etheric dimensions which are full of fluidity and merging potential- to go where Gaia's changes are leading us.

Subtle beings do not always use words. They often use their presence and gestures to communicate. I have found that they frequently do bizarre and surprising things to get me to understand what they wish to convey. They have different codes of conduct and different ways of making meaning which fall outside of human social norms. Cooperating with the elemental world requires us to have patience, and the openness and willingness to sit with the riddles until greater clarity arrives. They often tell us: Don’t be so serious! Have some fun!

Elemental Beings: The Hands of Gaia

Gaia is, above all, an elemental world. The elemental beings are her hands: the creative intelligences who weave the bridge between the invisible and the manifest, without whom no physical life would exist. Like microorganisms, they are present in everything: responsible for all the processes of life, and almost entirely unperceived.

Every soul has a counterpart in the elemental world. We each carry a personal elemental being who is responsible for our embodiment, for holding the physical body in incarnation and for the moment-to-moment wonder of our being here. Marko Pogačnik’s conception of the soul and elemental being as twins is a most inspiring and fitting depiction: they have always danced together, inseparable and mutually dependent. Yet elemental beings have been largely erased from human awareness, casualties of rational thinking and the resulting inanimate cultures.

In the Gaia culture geomancy work, restoring our relationship with elemental beings is central. Human will carries divine force: when we direct our intention toward something, elemental beings carry it out. Elemental beings are in service to life, yet subject to thousands of years of unconscious human command, they have found themselves serving processes they would not willingly have chosen. To acknowledge the elemental beings, to offer them appreciation and to ask what they want rather than commanding what we want, is an act of deep respect and solidarity with the elemental world. In freeing them from their enslavement, we find our own liberation.

Fifth Elemental Beings: A New Evolution

As Gaia leaps, all life leaps with her- including the elemental beings. In the spiritual frameworks from hundreds of years ago, such as those presented by the alchemist Paracelsus in the 16th century, elemental beings were given traditional names and were perceived as closely bound to specific elements: nymphs and nixies to water, gnomes and dwarves to Earth, salamanders to fire, sylphs to air. But Gaia’s evolution now brings us into in an era of synthesis. The boundaries between the elements are dissolving, and elemental beings are branching out from their original domains: their roles becoming more fluid, more complex and more diversified.

From within this development have emerged what we call fifth elemental beings: elemental beings who are more individualised, more perceptible to human consciousness, and more capable of sustained and intimate relationship with us. They have developed greater will, personality and emotional depth. They are, in many ways, bridges: between the elemental world and the human world, between what has been and what is becoming.

Tanis Helliwell's leprechaun Lloyd, described in her book Summer with the Leprechauns, is an example of a fifth elemental being: highly evolved, individualised, with a command of human language developed through attentive observation and attunement to the human world. These elemental beings have studied us and are ushering in an era of co-creative relationship with humanity, rooted in mutual recognition.

The increased capacity of the fifth elemental beings for co-evolving with humanity comes with a corresponding vulnerability. Through the relationship I developed with an Earth elemental being in the Alps, who I have written about as the ‘Gloomy Goblin’ on the Embodying Earth blog, I have learned that they can suffer in ways that more diffuse elemental beings cannot. The fifth elemental beings carry a complexity of feeling and emotion that resembles our own- and they need our respect and care as much as they offer us theirs.

The Sidhe: Cousins Across the Veil

When fifth elemental beings and other invisible beings appear to us, they do not carry fixed forms. They reach into the archetypal repository within our consciousness and choose shapes and symbols that we recognise or carry special meaning within our individual matrix. It is therefore important to acknowledge that subtle beings appear differently according to the consciousness they are communicating with. Their forms are fluid and moulded by the perceiving consciousness, yet they carry a reality of presence.

Another vast inner evolution of Earth is that of the Sidhe- our long lost fairy cousins. The Sidhe (pronounced Shee) is an Irish name for this evolution of inner Earth beings, but they are present throughout the planet and are called many names depending on the culture in contact with them. At one point in the deep past, before the present density of the material world had fully formed, when the Earth was still more etheric than solid, humans and the Sidhe possessed a shared ancestry and inhabited the same dimension. Then came a divergence: the Sidhe made a dramatic evolutionary leap into the etheric dimensions of their fairy world, while humanity continued their journey into dense embodiment.

In the Cherokee tradition, these large fairy beings are called Nunnehi. In Tolkien's writing, which drew from a keen perception of the invisible worlds, the elves are tall, ancient, ethereal beings of tremendous intelligence and grace. The Sidhe are not the diminutive flower fairies of Victorian illustration, but a civilisation of beings who share our origins and our love of the Earth.

As Gaia thins the veils and the era of permeability deepens, the possibility of more direct cooperation between humans and Sidhe is opening. The history between our two peoples since the ancient parting has not been easy as the aggression and domination that have characterised human civilisation have led the Sidhe to withdraw their world from ours. The Sidhe individuals and groups who have developed the ability to perceive humans are watching to see whether we can be trusted as partners once more. They are not so much testing us as holding out hope for the homecoming of humanity to its own divine nature.

Cosmogram of the Bee

Cosmograms are a form of art and universal language developed by Marko Pogačnik. Often carved in stone, they address the multidimensionality of life- its visible and invisible aspects, its qualities and its essences. The word cosmogram is itself composed of two Greek roots: cosmos, because in the cosmos all things are interrelated, and gram, from gramma, meaning letter. A cosmogram, then, is a letter to the wholeness of creation.

Each cosmogram is built upon geomantic experience and the living relationships with the realms and beings with whom we feel called to communicate. Cosmograms are drawn in attunement and cooperation with the subtle beings who assist in shaping its form and language.

Becoming a Sommelier of Vibration

To be a pollinator of consciousness is to develop the delicate sensitivity of a sommelier. A sommelier does not develop their palate in a single afternoon. It is a long and patient training: tasting many wines and grapes, returning again and again until the senses become refined enough to distinguish what was once indistinguishable. What began as an overwhelming complexity of flavour gradually transforms into something knowable: this note, that bouquet, this particular quality of soil and light.

Embodied Geomancy is the art of becoming a sommelier of vibration. In the beginning, the impressions received from the inner dimensions of places and beings arrive all mixed together- elusive, easy to doubt and difficult to verbalise. Over time, with repeated direct experience and the willingness to trust what arises in the body before the mind has a chance to dismiss it, the inner palate develops. You visit a place and sense something luminous and enchanting- a fairy quality, perhaps. You visit another place and recognise: that was the same. You encounter the deep, explosive power of a dragon and register its particular signature in your body's memory. Little by little, the threads separate. The invisible world becomes more palpable.

Perception arrives differently for each person- through bodily sensations, images, a song that wants to be sung, dreams that carry a certain quality. All of these are valid. All of these are part of the stream of consciousness, opening and refining as we return to presence and the direct experience of the landscape, places and beings. The bees are inviting us to become sommeliers of vibration.

Bee-ing with Sister Earth

The humble bee may not know the full magnitude of what it does, but the flowering happens nonetheless. And perhaps this is all that Gaia asks from us: to move with love, to stay open and trust that what we carry in our vibrational fields, gathered from the whispers of the subtle worlds, is already planting little seeds within the garden of life.

In the new geomancy work we talk about Sister Earth to introduce the possibility of a new dynamic in our relationship with Gaia. Throughout the ages, humanity has related to Earth as mother- the one who cleans up after us, provides without question and asks for nothing in return. But what if she is ready to be someone else to us now? What if she is stepping forward as our sister- someone who trusts us with her vulnerabilities, asking for reciprocity, shared responsibility and true co-creativity?

Earth as mother is an ancient and beloved image, one that carries tenderness and gratitude. Yet new vibrations are stirring and raising the question of whether it is time to meet Gaia in a new dynamic. Gaia is calling us to blossom into our full presence with courage to embrace the enormous changes she is moving through. We are discovering our inner bee-ing, our interdimensional consciousness, and our Sister Earth is already flying ahead.
